Can CBD help with Fibromyalgia?
Around 2 million people in the UK suffer from fibromyalgia, a neurological disorder resulting in widespread chronic pain, deep exhaustion and sleep problems.
Researchers believe that this high sensitivity to pain is caused by a malfunction in the endocannabinoid system. There is evidence to suggest that fibromyalgia patients may benefit from using CBD.
CBD Oil.

CBD is one of more than 140 cannabinoids extracted from the cannabis plant. CBD interacts with receptors located in the endocannabinoid system (ECS)
The ECS regulates a variety of cognitive and physiological processes including mood, memory, appetite, inflammation, and pain.
CBD for Fibromyalgia.
CBD works by interacting with receptors located throughout the peripheral and central nervous system, the pathway in which pain signals travel along.
This pathway is distorted in fibromyalgia patients and patients experience a more heightened form of pain.

CBD can regulate the perception of pain by affecting the activity of serotonin receptors which are known to influence pain perception.
In addition to this, the activation of CB2 receptors on the skin cells stimulates the release of endorphin, which acts as an opioid receptor to inhibit the message of pain.
When the body is in distress it produces an endocannabinoid known as anandamide which has been shown to suppress pain. This molecule is eradicated from the body by an enzyme known as fatty acid amide hydrolase or FAAH. CBD inhibits FAAH thereby slowing down anandamide decomposition resulting in further pain suppression, which may help fibromyalgia patients experience pain relief.
Existing medications simply mask the pain whereby CBD may offer a different solution.

How can I take CBD?
There are a few different ways to take CBD, each method has its own unique absorption profile. Options include ingestion, topical application and sublingual administration.
Sublingually: CBD is absorbed through tissue under the tongue and enters the bloodstream in around 15 minutes. This is one of the best ways to maximise absorption.
How much CBD should I take?
Dosage frequency & amounts are at the user’s discretion, with a maximum daily dose of 70mg. New users are recommended to start on a low dose and build up gradually to a standard daily dose of 20-25mg. CBD dosage
