In the first month, 79.2 per cent of the patients reported lower anxiety levels and 66.7 per cent reported better sleep.

Pain

A research paper – Frontiers in Pharmacology, noted that there is a fair amount of evidence to support the claim that CBD soothes pain. The authors noted that by reducing chronic pain, CBD can improve sleep.

Sleep Cycle

A research paper from 2014 looked at four patients with Parkinson’s disease. It found that CBD improved the symptoms of REM sleep behaviour disorder (RBD), a disorder in which a person acts out their dreams. RBD is associated with poor sleep and nightmares. Research has shown that the ECS is involved in promoting sleep and has a role in our circadian rhythm, the body system that promote a sleep wake cycle.

How Much CBD Should I Take?

New users are recommended to start on a low dose and build up gradually to a standard daily dose of 20 – 25 mg of CBD one hour before bedtime.
