List of Common Cannabinoids
Below is a list of the most common cannabinoid molecules found in cannabis.
Cannabidiol (CBD) — The second most common cannabinoid produced by the cannabis plant that is non-psychoactive. According to many studies CBD has anti- anxiety, anti-convulsion, anti-cancer properties. CBD has also show to be Neuroprotective and helps stabiles the nervous system and can be a useful pain killer.
Delta (9)-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) — The primary psychoactive compound that gives users a feeling of euphoria. To gain a psychoactive effect you would require around 10 -20 mg of THC. In the UK, the legal limit of THC per container is less than 1mg. THC has shown to have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties as well as being a muscle relaxant and appetite stimulant.
Cannabichromene (CBC) — This third most common cannabinoid which is non-psychoactive. It is thought to support mood and joint and muscle function. CBC studies have shown to have antibacterial properties, stimulate bone growth, and inhibit tumour growth.
Cannabinol (CBN) — Believed to support joint and muscle function and aid a good night’s rest. In studies it has also shown have anti-inflammatory, antibacterial properties.
Cannabigerol (CBG) — Non-psychoactive and used to support mood, joint and muscle function. CBG has shown to have anti-inflammatory, antibacterial properties.
Tetrahydrocannabivarin (THCv) — Less psychoactive than THC.
Cannabidivarin (CBDv) — Similar to CBD in its effects.
Delta (8) THC — Similar to delta (9)-THC, less psychoactive and may support a relaxed mood.
THCa and CBDa — Compounds found in raw cannabis that are non-psychoactive
